Our story is still being written

More than five decades of reliable collaboration with agricultural professionals

Back in 1970, Mr. Hitoshi Watanabe launched his business operations in Castro-Pr as an authorized distributor of Hatsuta sprayers. By maintaining constant engagement with local farmers, he gained a deep understanding of their practical needs—leading him to develop the first two-row potato harvester.

Thanks to the overwhelming success of this equipment and rising market demand, the Hitoshi Watanabe Agricultural Machinery Factory was established in 1976, specializing in potato-related implements. Following his passing in 1983, Mr. Watanabe bequeathed his business to his wife and children, who took over as successors.

In 1984, the company was renamed Watanabe Máquinas Agrícolas Indústria e Comércio Ltda. Building on its foundation in the potato sector, the firm continued to innovate with new product developments tailored to this market while expanding into additional segments: cotton, sugarcane, forestry, soil preparation, and material handling & storage equipment.
